"I Have No Ideas Left": A Repeatable Research System for Posting 3+ Times a Week

Over 51% of creators name "constantly having to come up with new ideas" as a top cause of burnout. It beats editing, it beats the algorithm, it beats hate comments. The blank page is the job's hardest part.

Here's the uncomfortable reframe that fixed it for me: you don't have an ideas problem, you have a research problem. Prolific creators aren't more creative. They have a system that manufactures starting points, so they never begin from zero.

This is that system. It takes about 45 minutes a week and produces more ideas than you can film.

The core principle: remix, don't invent

Every niche has a constantly refreshing supply of proven ideas: the videos that are already performing. An idea that worked once in your niche is pre-validated. Your job isn't to invent a new topic; it's to find a working one and add your angle, your story, or your disagreement.

This isn't stealing. A topic can't be owned, and your take, voice, and examples make it a different video. Every big creator you follow does this.

Step 1: Build your watchlist (once, 20 minutes)

Pick 5 to 10 accounts in or adjacent to your niche:

  • 3 or 4 direct competitors at your size or slightly bigger
  • 2 or 3 big accounts whose formats you admire
  • 1 or 2 from a neighboring niche (finance if you do productivity, fitness if you do mindset). Cross-niche remixes feel freshest because your audience hasn't seen them yet.

Step 2: The weekly sweep (Monday, 20 minutes)

Once a week, go through your watchlist and collect outliers only: videos performing clearly above that account's normal. A video with 10x the account's usual views is a signal. A video with average views is noise.

For each outlier, capture three things:

  1. The link (you'll want the transcript later)
  2. The hook, word for word
  3. Why you think it worked, in one sentence

Five to eight outliers is plenty.

Step 3: The angle map (15 minutes)

For each outlier, generate angles by running it through four lenses:

  • Personalize: the same topic through your own story or results.
  • Disagree: the counter-take. "Everyone's praising X. Here's what they're missing."
  • Niche down: the same idea for your specific audience. "This advice is great, unless you're a faceless channel."
  • Update or extend: what's changed, what's step 2, what they left out.

One outlier through four lenses = four ideas. Six outliers = 24 ideas. Your problem is now choosing, which is a much better problem.

Step 4: Bank everything

Keep a single running list: idea, source link, hook draft, angle type. When it's filming week, you're picking from a menu, not staring at a wall. When 51% of creators say ideation burns them out, this list is the difference between them and you.

Why most people quit this system

Nobody quits because the system doesn't work. They quit because the mechanics are tedious: opening 8 accounts, finding transcripts, pasting them into a doc, re-explaining context to ChatGPT for every angle.

That friction is a tooling problem, and it's the exact one we built Kreate Club to remove. You drop the outlier videos onto a visual canvas, the transcripts appear on their own, and you chat across all of them at once: "which hook patterns repeat here?" or "give me 5 angles on video 3 in my voice." The Monday sweep goes from an afternoon to half an hour. There's a free 7-day trial if the manual version is where your system keeps dying.

But tool or no tool, the principle stands: stop inventing from zero. Your niche is already telling you what works. Build the loop that listens.

Related: once you have ideas, the next bottleneck is hooks. We keep a swipe file of 25 hook formulas sorted by emotion for exactly that step.
